The conditions of entry to Mauritius are not complicated at all and you can read them at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. (if you are Czech citizen). However, I strongly recommend you to fill out the arrival form in advance, which will greatly speed up the entire reception process at the airport. After meeting all the conditions, you will receive a tourist visa for 3 months at the airport. If you decide to stay a little longer, you can apply for an extension of another 3 months in Port Louis at the immigration office (Sterling house).

We wanted to avoid this extension, so we applied for a PREMIUM VISA (valid for 1 year) while we were still in the Czech Republic. However, it was still not processed by the time of departure. At the immigration office, they told us to fly in and get tourist visa for 3 months and the application will be processed by then. Well, it wasn't 😂.

Every day we sent emails and tried to call them - no response. Therefore, the whole family went to immigration in person (you can get visas in the mezzanine - on the mezzanine floor). We got the information that we meet all the requirements, provided all necessary documents, and that they will notify us next week.

A week passed by and still nothing happened, so we went to the office again. This time there was no one responsible for Premium Visas on-site, so we didn't find out anything except that it is being processed. A miracle happened next day, i.e. the day our tourist visas expired, we received an email with attached Premium visas. Wonderful. So don't be afraid to keep contacting them and you'll be fine. You just have to take into account that everything takes time here.

You can find more about Premium Visa here. Just to clarify, tourist visas and Premium visas are free of charge.
