Chamarel Seven Colored Earth is one of the most famous and most visited places in Mauritius. When you arrive at the airport, you will be greeted by a huge photo of it. The journey to Chamarel itself is an experience and in addition to a large number of curves, beautiful views of the west coast await you.

In addition to the geopark, a view of the iconic Chamarel waterfall is included in the price (500 rs/person). You pay the tickets at the entrance and then drive to the waterfall viewpoint. Here, don't forget to climb a little further up the hill to the upper viewpoint, where there is an even better view of the highest waterfall in Mauritius.

Then you will drive to the parking lot for the Seven Colored Earth geopark. There is usually a security guard at the entrance who checks purchased tickets. In the beautifully maintained area, you will also find toilets, a cafe and a souvenir shop, particularly with Chamarel coffee. Children will surely enjoy the enclosure with turtles. The geological phenomenon of the 7 colors of the earth stands out best for us in the contrast of the clear sky and the surrounding greenery. Then the country plays even with more colors.

In the Chamarel locality, there is also an Ebony forest, to which entrance is paid separately. If you are a fan of Mauritian rum, you should not miss the famous Chamarel rum. Along the way, you can also stop at Le Chamarel, a gourmet restaurant with breathtaking views of the west coast.
